Making Research Public
Making Research Public is a new initiative of CLEA ArtScience that collaborates with researchers, academics, organisations, and institutions bring their work into the world.
Many groups are strong at producing knowledge but less experienced at communicating it beyond academic or professional circles. That is where we come in.
CLEA ArtScience helps researchers bring artistic research into scientific projects. More and more funding bodies look for proposals that demonstrate cultural relevance, imaginative scope, and societal impact. We make this possible by connecting research with artistic practice as a way to expand thinking, engage audiences, and generate new perspectives.
We can:
advise on how to frame art–science collaboration in a funding application
collaborate directly as artists, or
connect you with the right artist(s) from our network.
Ideally, we are involved at the application stage, where our input can add value to the proposal itself. During a project we contribute through meetings, conceptual exploration, and creative development, helping audiences engage with ideas in unexpected ways.
Our expertise spans theatre, performance, visual art, installation, film, sound, interactive and digital and web-based formats, alongside systems science, cybernetics, ecology, AI, mathematics, philosophy of science, and related fields. We have experience in curating and organising exhibitions, symposiums, performances, talks, workshops, and more.
We are based in Brussels and work across languages and contexts. We are always open to an informal conversation to explore how art might connect with your research.
